Another prime example of how our Government agencies work.
Remember that HUGE chuck of change Obama wanted to help stimulate the economy? Well, it appears that the Social Security Administration, a Federal Government Program designed to benefit Americans, has admitted to sending out money to incarcerated convicts.
(I guess that is one way Obama can gain supporters. )
"It is unacceptable for convicts to be getting stimulus funds. It speaks to the lack of oversight and accountability to have such nonsense coming out of Washington. Where is the accountability?" House Minority Whip Eric Cantor said in a written statement.
Do you see what the problem is?
When the government is in charge, and it messes up, no one can be held responsible. No one really gets in trouble.
The intent of the program, however honorable or well intended it is, is still a government program that history has shown will continue to mess up, because no one cares, or is held accountable.
This is exactly the kind of situation that will occur with any government health program. They will mess up, and no one will be held accountable. No one can be sued; no one will make restitution, and LIVES WILL BE LOST.
And all the while, the government's excuse for it not working as advertised will be because 'the program needs more money to operate'.
What will the response be from the government when you or someone you know is harmed by these types of accidents?
'Opps, sorry about that' or 'We'll look into what went wrong.' or 'some underpaid disinterested clerk somewhere didn't file or note something properly, so we need to pay people more to get them to work better'
But why would they?
By not doing a good job in the first place, they will have gotten a raise, why buck the system?
How much more would they get as an incentive, if they just sat back on their Edema ridden butts and did nothing at all?
Again, someone show me an agency, any agency of the U.S. Government that is holding its own, on budget, and doing the Good Job we pay them for.
There is no way, a freeloading governmental health plan, run by civil servants with little or no accountability can ever hope to compete against the profit driven private sector, who's very existence and survival is on the line daily, prompting a degree of responsibilty, quality and customer satisfaction that assures fewer mistakes are made, and insuring by the very nature of capitalism, an ever expanding thirst for better, faster, and cheaper service.
If a private sector company doesn't make a profit, they don't stay in business. And the patients move on to a better, more efficient company.
With a government run health care system, I guarantee you they will be crying for more money, lowering the quality of service while handing out those legally prescribed, un-earned raises.
